Iranian authorities executed two men accused of spying for Israel's intelligence agency Mossad, Tasnim news agency reported.
"Yaqub Karimpour and Nasser Bekrzadeh, who were accused of information cooperation and espionage for the Zionist regime and the Mossad intelligence service, were hanged in accordance with the established legal procedures, after the conviction was confirmed by the country's Supreme Court," the statement said.
According to the agency, Karimpour passed classified information about the country to Mossad agents during the open phase of the conflict with the US and Israel. Investigations revealed that the second person executed, Bekrzadeh, also collected and passed on information to foreign intelligence agents about important government, state and religious figures, as well as places important to Iran, such as Natanz.
One of the facilities of Iran's nuclear program is located in Natanz, which was attacked by the United States in June 2025.
