US President Donald Trump has admitted that the US military behaved like pirates when seizing Iranian oil tankers. He made this statement during a speech before the members of the local "Forum" club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Commenting on the seizure by US forces of two Iranian tankers, "Majestic" and "Tifani", which were carrying a total of 3.8 million barrels of oil, the American leader stated that the US "seized the ships and took the cargo".
"We have taken oil, which is a very profitable business. Who would have thought that?
We acted like pirates," he said. "We are pirates in some sense. we don't play games," he added.
