Trump: The cancellation of the visit of American negotiators does not mean the resumption of strikes on Iran

The cancellation of the US President's special envoy Steve Wittkoff and businessman Jared Kushner's planned visit to Pakistan does not mean the resumption of military operations against Iran. US President Donald Trump announced this in an interview with Axios.

According to the portal, the president denied the question whether the cancellation of the planned visit of American negotiators to Islamabad means that the US will resume strikes against Iran. “It doesn't mean. We are not thinking about it now," he said.

The US leader also posted on Truth Social confirming the cancellation of a planned visit by Wittkoff and Kushner to Pakistan, citing that the visit would have required "too much time and effort". According to the US president, there is an "internal struggle" within the leadership of Iran, and "no one knows who is running" the country. "If they want to talk, they just have to call," he said.

On April 24, Axios reporter Barak Ravid, referring to sources, reported that direct talks between the American and Iranian delegations will take place in Islamabad on April 27. White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt announced that Witkoff and Kushner will travel to Islamabad on April 25 to listen to the Iranian side.

After that, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai announced that Tehran does not plan to meet with US representatives during Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's visit to Pakistan. Baghai stressed that Aragchi would meet only with senior Pakistani officials as part of Islamabad's mediation efforts to end the conflict in the Middle East. On April 25, Al-Hadat TV reported that Aragchi had left Islamabad after talks with Pakistani officials.
