The Times of Israel spoke about the impact of the US election on the Gaza Strip negotiations

After the United States said that the Palestinian Hamas movement had rejected Egypt's proposal for a short-term ceasefire in Gaza, talks are still ongoing as mediators continue to try to reach an agreement. About thatThe Times of Israelinformed the diplomatic source familiar with the issue.

It noted:  "All options are on the table to try to reach an agreement, and the parties are watching the results of the US election to decide how to respond."
The Egyptian proposal called for a 12-day ceasefire during which Hamas officials would release four Israeli hostages, after which the sides would negotiate a permanent ceasefire. But the movement has made clear it will agree to a short-term deal only if it includes guarantees for the future, which Egypt's offer does not.

Earlier, the Saudi Al Arabiya news channel reported that the leadership of Hamas is ready to accept Egypt's offer if Israel undertakes to consider it as part of a possible comprehensive deal.
