During the discussion of the draft amendments to the Electoral Code and the Constitutional Law made yesterday, the members of the Communist Party, almost without exception, approached the NA podium with "sticks" and read their speeches from paper.
According to our information, CP deputies were given to write their texts in advance, they assigned the roles of who should deliver what speech, many did not manage to memorize the speeches or rewrite the thought in their own words and decided that it is safer to read. 66 votes were needed to pass the project, and they took a break 2 times to arrest those who pushed the button.
In addition to 65 CP deputies, one-time oppositionist Gegham Nazaryan also voted in favor. Minutes before his vote, Artur Hovhannisyan, secretary of the CP faction, approached him and probably instructed him.
Perhaps the KP had a fear that those who were left out of the next parliament might betray them "from below" in the team and not vote in favor, so they involved the reserve player of the KP.
