"Fact" daily writes:
Ahead of the 2026 parliamentary elections, discussions about the need for consolidation are intensifying in the opposition field.
Experts definitely estimate that the single or fragmented participation of low-ranking political forces can lead to polling of votes, which ultimately works in favor of the current government, strengthening its positions.
High voter turnout is of key importance in these elections. Experts believe that the high level of participation is the factor that can prevent the reproduction of the current government.
It is noted that the main task of the opposition is not only to participate in the elections, but also to mobilize the voters. Only then will it be possible to ensure real competition and reduce the probability of the reproduction of power.
At the same time, the separate participation of small parties in the existing situation can have the opposite effect. According to experts, it can actually serve the interests of the current government, increasing fragmentation and contributing to an inefficient structure of vote distribution.
Thus, the thesis that the consolidation of the opposition around the main forces can become the main factor for changing the political balance is becoming more and more popular. Its absence, on the contrary, may lead to the preservation of the positions of the current government.
Experts recall the experience of previous elections, when many forces received minimum percentages, which, in fact, did not turn into political influence and practically worked in favor of the ruling power. According to them, the repetition of the same scenario remains one of the greatest dangers due to the logic of the current electoral system.
Nevertheless, even if the opposition does not manage to act with maximum unity, that is, with 3-4 main poles, it is still necessary to come to a consensus on at least a few issues.
The first and main thing is to exclude the phenomenon of fighting against each other, which is very palpable at the current stage, not to hurt from behind. Any move to the contrary will again be aimed at the presentto the reproduction of the authorities.
