The US Navy's amphibious assault ship Tripoli, with a crew of about 3,500 sailors and marines, is in the Indian Ocean. This was announced by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) on the X social platform.
The command released a photo dated March 29 showing the ship in the Indian Ocean.
On March 28, CENTCOM reported that the amphibious assault ship had arrived in Central Command's area of operational responsibility. It mainly includes the Middle East.
On March 29, US President Donald Trump did not rule out that US forces may launch a ground operation on the Iranian island of Kharg.
At the same time, the American side has announced that negotiations are underway with Iran to end the war spread in the Middle East after the US-Israeli strikes on February 28.
