According to the data of the LRT national radio of Lithuania, the turnout of voters in the second round was 49.6 percent.
Shimonite has already accepted his defeat and congratulated Nauseda on being elected president for the second term. "I would like to congratulate the elected president of Lithuania," his words were quoted by LRT. Shimonite added that he will return to work as prime minister.
On May 12, the first round of presidential elections took place in Lithuania, Nauseda collected 44.19 percent of votes, Shimonite - 19.78. In the first round, eight candidates claimed the position of president. Since none of them got 50 percent, the second round was scheduled for May 26.
