Today, March 25, Gegharkunik Marz resident Armen Ohanesov was sentenced to life imprisonment by the judge of the first instance court of Gegharkunik Marz, Artavazd Karapetyan.
As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports, a criminal prosecution was initiated against the latter under the 3rd, 5th, 9th clauses of Article 155, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, because on October 27, 2025, he killed a minor boy born on March 23, 2022, with the intention of illegally depriving him of his life.
He killed the child by squeezing the throat with his hand in the middle of the field adjacent to Tsapatagh settlement of Chambarak enlarged community of Gegharkunik marz, and then after hiding the body in different parts of the middle of the field, he moved it to the middle of the field adjacent to the road leading to Jil settlement of Chambarak enlarged community and left it. The child's body was found on November 2.
After considering the mentioned act as justified, he was sentenced to life imprisonment by the decision of judge Artavazd Karapetyan.
