French President Emmanuel Macron had a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian. The French leader announced this in X. "I spoke with Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian.
I reaffirmed the absolute necessity to stop the unacceptable attacks on the countries of the region, to ensure the protection of energy and civil infrastructure and to restore the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz," wrote Macron.
He added that he called on Pezeshkian to "participate conscientiously in the negotiation process in order to pave the way for the easing of tensions."
