Yesterday, the Parliament discussed the candidacy of Vladimir Vardanyan, a former member of the Communist Party of Ukraine, as a member of the Constitutional Court, and, apparently, the ruling majority will vote today on the issue of filling the vacant seat after the termination of Hrayr Tovmasyan's powers. The government, which once fought against Hrayr Tovmasyan because the RPA appointed its representative as a judge of the Supreme Court, is now sending the stubborn member of the Central Committee to the Supreme Court.
According to some reports, the government is also considering Vardanyan for the position of the president of the CC, despite the nefarious connection between Vardanyan and the current president Arman Dilanyan.
Vardanyan, who selflessly served Gagik Harutyunyan and has been friends with Hrayr Tovmasyan for many years, "has no problem" in that regard, he is ready to selflessly serve all authorities. Will Vardanyan, a former member of the Criminal Court, be able to be an impartial judge of the CC? Vardanyan gave a funny answer to this question yesterday. First, he said that he feels sorry for Tovmasyan, then he said that the only similarity between him and him is that both of them, yes, are party members.
He noted that they also go to the SC from the position of the chairman of the National Assembly, but Hrayr Tovmasyan's issue was problematic in that he was not elected a judge and president of the SC not by the article of the Constitution he wrote, but by the previous Constitution to serve for a long time.
