"Zhoghovurd" daily writes:
"The report on the alleged crime submitted by Zhoghovurd daily has been sent for investigation. The reason for this program was the briefing held in the RA government on March 5, during which the journalist of the newspaper asked a question to the RA Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan.
The journalist reminded that in recent years, various criminal cases have been reopened in order to uncover previously hidden crimes, and in that context, he wondered why there is no initiative to reopen the criminal proceedings initiated in 2017, which, according to published information, refer to the secretary of the "Civil Agreement" faction, Artur Hovhannisyan, in whose car 0.24 mg of drugs were found in 2017, after which he was arrested.
And who was the official during the years of the previous government, after whose intervention the case was closed? In response, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said, "Your question was heard live, and the law enforcement agencies are obliged to accept what you said as a report of a crime and process it in accordance with the law." After that, Zhoghovurd daily officially submitted a report to the prosecutor's office, referring to Article 173, Clause 3 of the RA Criminal Procedure Code, and requested a legal assessment of the presented circumstances.
The newspaper demanded to find out under what conditions the 2017 criminal case was closed and whether there were possible illegal interventions in the activities of law enforcement agencies. According to the answer received from the Prosecutor's Office, the report was sent to the RA Investigative Committee in order to decide the further process.
