Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The conversation took place on February 28 at the initiative of the Iranian side, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
The Foreign Minister of Iran informed his Russian counterpart about the measures taken by Tehran to counter the actions of the USA and Israel. According to Tehran, the latter have once again disrupted the negotiation process for the peaceful settlement of the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program.
He also announced his intention to urgently initiate a session of the UN Security Council. The Russian Foreign Minister reaffirmed Russia's readiness, including within the framework of the UN Security Council, to contribute to the search for a peaceful settlement of the crisis, based on international law, mutual respect and the balance of the parties' interests.
