China is calling on the United States to eliminate unilateral tariffs on its trading partners, China's Ministry of Commerce said on Monday, commenting on the US Supreme Court ruling.
On Friday, the US Supreme Court ruled that the "Emergency Economic Powers" law, under which US President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on imports, prevents him from doing so. The US president called the decision shameful and noted that he has a backup plan.
"China calls on the United States to cancel the relevant unilateral tariff measures against its trade partners," the ministry said in a statement. China's Ministry of Commerce stressed that facts have proven that cooperation is beneficial to China and the United States, while confrontation is harmful to both countries.
