Macron to hold cabinet meeting after activist's murder in Lyon

France's government will hold a meeting next week to discuss the activities of groups and their possible links to political parties following the killing of a right-wing activist in Lyon during mass fighting between right-wing and left-wing supporters, President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday.

Earlier, two parliamentary assistants of the left-wing MP Raphael Arno were arrested on suspicion of participating in the death of the 23-year-old activist. "At the beginning of the week, I will meet with the prime minister and the relevant ministers to fully review the case of all violent groups that have anything to do with political parties," Macron told reporters.

Earlier, 23-year-old Nemesis movement activist Quentin Derank was beaten during a mass fight with left-wing activists in front of the University of Lyon, where Rima Hasan, a member of the European Parliament from the left-wing "French Stability" party, was giving a speech.
