Grossi. Iran may have 440 kg of uranium enriched to 60%

The International Atomic Energy Agency believes that Iran may contain approximately 440 kg of uranium enriched to 60%. This was stated by the general director of the international organization, Rafael Grossi, in an interview with Foreign Policy magazine.

"According to the latest data, we are talking about approximately 440 kg of uranium enriched up to 60%, and even larger amounts enriched up to 20% and 5%. Thus, there is a large stock of nuclear materials there," he said. Grossi noted that IAEA inspectors currently do not have access to Iran's nuclear facilities. "That is why, among other things, it is very important to restore that access. And there is another point. the nuclear materials are still there," said the director of the agency.

"We have to go back there to check that they haven't been diverted or hidden somewhere," Grossi added. According to the IAEA classification, uranium must be enriched to 90% to produce a nuclear weapon, and approximately 42 kg of uranium enriched to 60% is "theoretically sufficient" to create one nuclear weapon.
