Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that his country is an integral part of European security and that it is time to include it in the existing mechanisms of European defense.
"For years, we have explained on all platforms that our country will make a significant positive contribution to the European Union.
It is time to include Turkey in the existing European defense and security mechanisms. We must realize that the approaches that exclude Turkey and ignore world realities are absolutely illogical.
As for the creation of a new defense architecture in Europe, if there are such intentions, it is obvious that this architecture will be incomplete without Turkey. Today, the Turkish army is one of the largest and most effective armies of NATO," the journalists quoted the President as saying.
