Ukraine received $690 million from Japan and Canada

Tokyo and Ottawa provided Kiev with $690 million under the ERA program, which provides for debt repayment using interest from frozen Russian assets. This was announced by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. "Ukraine received a $690 million grant from Japan and Canada within the framework of the G7 ERA mechanism.

The funds were received within the framework of the G7 ERA mechanism, through the World Bank's PEACE in Ukraine program," it is stated on the ministry's website. The ministry clarified that Japan invested 544 million dollars, and Canada - 146 million dollars.

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reminded that on February 6, the Ministry and the World Bank signed an agreement on the provision of grant funds within the framework of the project "Support for Public Expenditures for Sustainable Public Administration in Ukraine" (PEACE in Ukraine). Earlier, the EU countries decided to provide Ukraine with 90 billion euros of funding in 2026-2027.
