The Armenian weightlifting championship ended in the Sports Management Center, in which 110 weightlifters participated. This was reported by the KSMS Ministry.
On the last day of the competition, on February 15, the champions and medal winners of Armenia in the 94 kg, 110 kg and +110 kg weight categories became known.
In the men's +110 kg weight category, Varazdat Lalayan was awarded the title of Armenian champion with a result of 440 kg in the double event, Simon Martirosyan (405 kg) became the silver medalist, and Ashot Movsisyan (377 kg) finished the top three.
The winners in this weight category were also awarded by the Deputy Minister of KGSMS Hasmik Avagyan. Garik Karapetyan became the champion in the 110 kg weight class, with a result of 380 kg in the dual event, and Ara Aghanyan was awarded the title of the best in the 94 kg category, showing a result of 370 kg in the dual event.
Earlier, the champions of Armenia were Garnik Cholakyan (272 kg), 65 kg: Zhora Grigoryan (254 kg), 71 kg: Gor Sahakyan (330 kg), 79 kg: Martin Poghosyan (337 kg), 88 kg: Rafik Harutyunyan (350 kg).
