US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has rejected the idea of the collapse of the Western bloc, despite acknowledging that many people around the world are talking about it. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, he noted that even after 1945, many believed that Western hegemony had passed.
"In an era when many are talking about the end of the American era, everyone should understand that this is not our goal or our desire," he said. He added that the United States does not want to be the "decline manager."
"Falling is the solution," Rubio emphasized. At the same time, he noted that Washington needs strong allies that are proud of their culture and heritage and are willing to defend a shared civilization.
