In an interview with France 24, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that US Vice President J.D. Vance raised the issue of the convicted former leaders of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) during a meeting with him during his visit to Baku.
"During the several-hour meeting with Vice President Vance, he raised this issue among other issues, and I presented Azerbaijan's position on this issue, and that's all," Aliyev said in an interview within the framework of the Munich Security Conference.
The recording of the interview was published by the state news agency. He noted that bilateral relations, regional development, "Trump's path for international peace and prosperity" and the prospects of concluding an official peace treaty with Armenia were discussed during the meeting.
