Europe has lost confidence in the US, so Washington is trying to ease tensions with European countries at the Munich Security Conference. This opinion is expressed in an article published in The New York Times.
"Europe's faith in US loyalty, shared values, European security and even territorial integrity has already been undermined, and after Davos (World Economic Forum), many European leaders have lost hope of returning to their former transatlantic relationship," the article noted.
According to the release, at the February 13 conference in Munich, "the United States is still making efforts to de-escalate tensions," American officials are guided by "pragmatic realism" and "they are not insulting" Europe.
