Minister of the French Armed Forces, Catherine Vautrin, is convinced that Europe should prepare for a high-intensity conflict.
"Since the beginning of the conflict on the European continent, the question has arisen whether we should prepare for a high-intensity conflict," Vautrin said in an interview with Euronews.
He believes that preparing for such a conflict is "the best way to prevent it." "That is exactly what we are doing," he said.
The minister stressed that France "ensures that its entire army is kept in a state of full combat readiness". "In order to inspire respect, you have to inspire fear," Vautrin said.
