Germany's defense ministry plans to spend around 536 million euros to acquire the first batch of new attack drones, the finance ministry said in a filing with the Bundestag's budget committee, which is expected to approve the deal soon.
The unmanned aerial vehicles are primarily designed to increase the combat capabilities and defense capabilities of the 45th tank brigade in Lithuania. They are Germany's important contribution to strengthening NATO's eastern flank and are intended to fill a gap in the defense system.
