The EU needs a new security policy in the Arctic. Callas

The head of European diplomacy, Kaya Callas, announced at a conference organized in Norway that the European Union needs a new security policy for the Arctic.

"It is time for a new EU Arctic policy that reflects our times and the world we want to see, including a safe Arctic for the European Union. It is very important that it is based on strong partnerships in the Arctic. This means deep cooperation with Norway, Canada and Iceland, with whom we already have close ties and with whom we will soon have security and defense partnership agreements," he said.

Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark. However, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that the island should become part of the US. The authorities of Denmark and Greenland warned Washington against the attempt to occupy the island and stated that they are waiting for their territorial integrity to be respected.
