Lukashenko supports Lula da Silva in the upcoming presidential elections in Brazil

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, expressed his political support to the current President of Brazil, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, in connection with the upcoming presidential elections in that country.

"Brazil is living an important political phase. As far as I am informed, general elections will be held in your country this year.

To be honest, I don't envy you, because this is a very difficult period. However, we are deeply concerned that the current president of Brazil will be able to retain his position as a result of these elections. As far as I am informed, he has confirmed his participation in the elections," said the head of state during the meeting with the Brazilian ambassador in Minsk, Bernard Klingle.

According to Lukashenko, as reported by "BelTA" agency, Belarus is ready to support Brazil in any way, if necessary, so that the elections are held in peaceful and calm conditions and in the interests of the Brazilian people.

The president also noted that both in Belarus and in Brazil, the views of specialists on world-class issues completely coincide.

"This will contribute and is already contributing to the formation of more effective relations between our states," he assured.
