Al Hadath: More than 950 former IS fighters have been transferred from Syrian prisons to Iraq

According to the American Al Hadath TV channel, more than 950 former fighters, members of the terrorist group "Islamic State" (IS, banned in Russia), have been transferred from Syrian prisons to Iraq.

According to the report, so far the American forces have transferred 953 active supporter groups from Syria to Iraq. It is noted that most of the former IS fighters who have already moved to Iraq are not Iraqis and have the citizenship of other countries. According to Al Hadath, in the next 24 hours, it is planned to transfer at least 150 more ex-IS members from Syria to special prisons in Iraq.

The movement of American forces from the Syrian territory to Iraq has been slowed down in recent days. According to the report, the reason is "the need for additional time to prepare the relevant prisons in Iraq." American forces announced last week that they are ready to transfer up to 500 IS fighters from Syria to Iraq every day.

Yesterday, the US Central Command stated that a maximum of 7,000 IS fighters would be transferred from Syria to Iraq.
