In recent days, US President Donald Trump has received from the Pentagon an expanded list of possible military actions against Iran, which includes strikes on nuclear and missile facilities, as well as actions aimed at weakening the country's leadership. This was reported by The New York Times newspaper, referring to anonymous US officials.
According to the newspaper, the new options go beyond the proposals that Trump discussed two weeks ago, and also include possible special actions (raiders) of the American forces against facilities in Iran.
The sources note that the discussions are taking place in a different context, as the protests in the Islamic Republic "have been suppressed, at least for the time being".
