Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in a conversation with journalists that Western security guarantees for Ukraine, which aim to preserve the Kiev regime in some areas of the former Ukraine, are unlikely to ensure reliable peace.
Lavrov recalled the words of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who announced the agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine. The Russian minister emphasized that Moscow has no idea what guarantees the parties have agreed on.
"Apparently, we are talking about the Ukrainian regime that conducts anti-Russian, neo-Nazi policy. And if the goal is to preserve the regime in some parts of the former Ukraine and continue to use that regime as a base to create threats to the Russian Federation, then perhaps you yourself will understand that such security guarantees can hardly ensure reliable peace," Lavrov said.
