China sees great potential in cooperation with Great Britain

The Chinese authorities see great potential in cooperation with Great Britain and are ready to discuss the issue of establishing a visa-free entry regime for British citizens. President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping announced this.

"China is ready to cooperate with Great Britain, guided by a broad historical perspective, overcoming differences, showing mutual respect and turning the great potential of Sino-British cooperation into significant achievements that will change the situation for the better," Xi Jinping said, according to China Central Television. He made this statement during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, which took place in Beijing at the House of People's Assembly (Parliament).

As the Chinese leader noted, Beijing is ready to "actively consider the possibility of introducing a unilateral visa-free regime for British citizens".

Xi Jinping noted that the situation in the world is extremely unstable, so China and Great Britain, as permanent members of the UN Security Council and leading economies, should strengthen dialogue and cooperation both in the field of security and in promoting the development of the two countries. According to him, the favorable relations between Beijing and London are beneficial not only to the two countries, but also to the entire international community.
