Klitschko addressed the people of Kyiv

Kyiv mayor Vitaly Klitschko advised the residents of the capital to spend the night in heating points or leave the city. This is reported by Strana.ua publication.
"Main heating points have been defined for each district in Kyiv.

In case of difficult situations, a large number of people can spend the night there," the publication states. Klitschko added that the capital's energy situation is very difficult and may worsen, so it is necessary to prepare reserves of food, water and medicine at home. He also advised everyone who has the opportunity to go out of the city to take advantage of that opportunity.

Massive, hours-long blackouts in Ukraine began in October due to faults in power grids and utility systems. All major thermal and hydroelectric plants in the country were also damaged. Because of this, their ability to produce electricity has significantly decreased, and the demand of residents has remained at the previous level.
