The Chinese authorities considered it appropriate to hold the upcoming consultations between Russia, the United States and Ukraine on the Ukrainian conflict in the Arab Emirates (UAE), the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiayun, said.
"Dialogue and negotiations are the only way to resolve the Ukrainian crisis," he said during the briefing, commenting on Beijing's position regarding these consultations.
According to the Chinese diplomat, the PRC government has adopted a consistent and clear position on this issue.
Earlier, Moscow and Washington agreed that on January 23, Abu Dhabi (UAE) will hold the first meeting of the tripartite working group of Russia, the United States and Ukraine on security issues.
