The Danish military is preparing to leave Greenland

At Nuuk airport in Greenland, dozens of Danish soldiers, in uniform but unarmed, are preparing to return to Denmark, "RIA Novosti" reports.

It is reported that in an hour and a half, 20 soldiers will board the plane to Copenhagen. The military refused to comment, but it is also known that the government of Greenland has scheduled a press conference at 20:00 Yerevan time.

Earlier, the Danish TV2 channel reported that Denmark is developing plans to send up to 1,000 soldiers to Greenland amid US claims to the island.

The release states that additional troops and equipment from the Danish Navy and Air Force are likely to be deployed this year. According to the sources, the military will probably stay on the island throughout the year.
