Cafes are closing en masse in Kyiv

Cafés in Kyiv are closing en masse due to the energy crisis, the Ukrainian publication "Strana.ua" reports, referring to local restaurateur Anastasia Zavadskaya.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko previously announced that there are power, heating and water outages in the city. Energy holding company DTEK said more than 170,000 families in the city were left without electricity.

"Cafes in Kyiv are closing en masse due to power outages," the publication's Telegram channel said.

According to Zavadskaya, quoted by the publication, in just one day in Kyiv, five institutions were closed due to lack of electricity, heating and water.
