Trump believes it is too early to choose a successor for the 2028 election

US President Donald Trump avoided giving a direct answer to the question about his successor in the 2028 presidential election, saying that it is too early to have such conversations.

In an interview with NewsNation, Trump was asked if there is anyone in the Republican Party who can become a future presidential candidate and continue the work Trump started.

"We have an excellent electoral list of candidates, we have very talented people," answered the president. He admitted that he has favorites among the candidates for the role of successor, but noted that it is "too early" to talk about this.

Among the officials of his administration that Trump is satisfied with, Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Besant, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Border Security and Immigration Deportation Commissioner Thomas Homan.

"I can call you 20 phenomenal people," concluded the American leader.
