Erdogan told al-Sharaa about the need to completely liberate Syria from terrorism

In a telephone conversation with the interim president of Syria, Ahmed al-Shara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the need to completely liberate the territory of Syria from terrorism.

The discussion focused on bilateral relations, as well as the latest developments in Syria. The president stressed that Turkey attaches great importance to the territorial integrity, unity, solidarity, stability and security of Syria.

He noted that the complete liberation of the Syrian territory from terrorism is important for both Syria and the entire region," Erdogan's office reported. The Turkish leader also noted that "Turkey's support for Syria, particularly in the fight against terrorism, will continue to be strengthened."

The conversation took place against the backdrop of the operation by the Syrian armed forces against the Kurdish "Syrian Democratic Forces" coalition and the conclusion of a cease-fire agreement between the parties on January 18.
