Politico. EU is ready to take decisive action against Trump over Greenland

The European Union is preparing to take the toughest possible measures against the United States, including tariffs of 93 billion euros, to prevent US President Donald Trump from trying to seize Greenland.

This was reported by the newspaper Politico, referring to diplomats and officials, after the urgently convened meeting of representatives of the 27 member states of the community in Brussels on January 18.

According to the publication, during the three-hour discussions in the Belgian capital, the diplomats emphasized "the importance of preparing concrete options to counter Trump in case the negotiations with Washington next week do not lead to a quick solution to the problem."

The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, also intends to convene an EU summit this week.
