Foreigners were arrested in Georgia

Migration service and border police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia arrested 14 foreign citizens in Georgia, reports Georgia Online.

As a result of the complex measures implemented jointly, the migration service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the border police arrested a total of 14 citizens of Bangladesh, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Morocco.

It was found that the arrested persons were in the country without legal grounds, according to the Law of Georgia "On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons".

They violated the conditions stipulated in the asylum procedure and were in the country without legal grounds for several years. The arrested did not use the conditions specified in the deportation decision, which imply voluntary departure from the country, as a result of which the migration service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia decided to arrest the mentioned persons. To ensure the execution of the decision, the arrested are now in the temporary accommodation center of the migration service, with the aim of returning them to the country of origin.
