A volcano has erupted in the Philippines with a 100 meter high lava fountain

On the morning of December 13, lava erupted on Mount Mayo in the Philippines, reaching a height of up to 100 meters, the Philippine News Agency reported, citing the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Mayon is an active volcano on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. The height of the crater reaches 2462 meters. NDRRMC released the video of the eruption on social media.

"The eruption lasted approximately 35 seconds and was recorded by cameras at the Mayon Volcano Observatory," the NDRRMC said in a statement.

Philippine authorities have not yet raised the volcano's alert level from level three to level four, which would require the evacuation of local residents within a radius of 7-8 kilometers.
