A bill to annex Greenland was presented in the US House of Representatives

US House of Representatives Randy Fine (R-Florida) has introduced legislation that would allow Washington to annex Greenland, according to a statement on his website.

The American president is authorized to "take necessary measures, including entering into negotiations with the Kingdom of Denmark, to annex Greenland or otherwise acquire it as a territory of the United States." It is assumed that in that case Greenland will be considered an American state.

According to Fine, the bill aims to "protect US national interests in the Arctic and counter growing threats from China and Russia." US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated the need for Greenland to join the United States.
