After a conversation with US President Donald Trump, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum ruled out the possibility of US military action in her country. The recording of the speech was published on his X social network page.
According to Sheinbaum, it was absolutely clear from the conversation with Trump that there is cooperation and coordination, and that Mexico City and Washington continue to work in this format.
He added that if the US makes a different statement at any time, Mexico will look for new ways of dialogue.
On January 9, the White House announced that the US military will begin ground operations in Latin America, particularly in Mexico, against drug cartels.
On January 3, shortly after the kidnapping of President Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela, Trump threatened several other countries in a press conference. Thus, the American leader announced that Washington "must do something" about Mexico, where, in his opinion, criminal cartels have a lot of influence.
