Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that Ukraine's air defense system does not have the necessary resources to repel airstrikes. "We see that our air defense system does not have the necessary resources to effectively repel attacks even in Kiev," Klitschko told Bild newspaper.
At the same time, he insisted that Ukraine "immediately needs additional air defense systems".
On January 9, the mayor of Kyiv called on residents to leave the capital if possible due to problems with heating and electricity supply, noting that half of the apartment buildings in Kyiv were left without heating.
