The son of the deposed Shah in 1979, Reza Pahlavi, announced on Fox News that he is ready to return to Iran.
"I am ready to return to Iran at the first opportunity. I am already planning to do it," said Pahlavi.
He added that he had received proposals to lead the "transition period" and expressed his willingness to do so.
Before that, Pahlavi had called on the participants of the protest action to seize power in the country by force.
He also called on Iranians, particularly workers in the main sectors of the economy, to join the general strike.
