During the riots in Iran, eleven people were killed, says Mashallah Shamsolvaezin, a member of the Information Technology Council of the Islamic Republic. This is reported by Tasnim.
"Eleven alleged deaths out of a population of 90 million is not a number that [US President Donald] Trump would use to blame Iran, and I have absolutely no doubt that they are behind the riots," he said.
Protests began in Iran on December 28 due to the devaluation of the national currency. In response, the authorities stepped up security measures, including the use of tear gas and air rifles by the police. The largest demonstrations took place in Tehran, while the strongest clashes were recorded in the west and southwest of the country.
