The United States has a personal interest in the unrest in Iran, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said, noting that the protesters are acting in accordance with the wishes of the US President Donald Trump.
"Various incidents are happening in Trump's own country. His hands are stained with the blood of more than a thousand Iranians. During the twelve days of the war (between Israel and Iran in June 2025), more than a thousand compatriots were killed, not counting military leaders, scientists and prominent figures.

"A group of inexperienced, inattentive and short-sighted people believe in him and act to please him. They burn trash cans just to please him," Khamenei said during a meeting with representatives of different sections of the population.
