Turkish parliament speaker Numan Kurtulmus called the action of the US to arrest Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro a gross violation of international law and declared the use of the "law of the jungle" in world politics unacceptable.
"US military intervention in Venezuela and dragging the head of an independent state from the bed of the head of an independent state on live broadcast to the world and then bringing him to court is a clear violation of international law. This is a clear manifestation of the "law of the jungle" from one of the largest countries in the world. Humanity should be united against it," Kurtulmus told reporters.
Earlier, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, condemned the actions of the US against the President of Venezuela, describing his abduction as a violation of sovereignty and disregard of international law.
