US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the United States believes that Greenland is of critical importance for missile defense infrastructure. "Greenland is important not only for our national security, but also for the national security of the whole world.
The entire missile defense infrastructure is partially dependent on Greenland," he said in an interview with Fox News. The US vice president believes that Denmark has not been able to sufficiently guarantee the security of the island.
"Ask yourself, has Europe, has Denmark done a proper job of securing Greenland so that it continues to serve as a pillar of global security and missile defense?
The answer is definitely not. They didn't invest enough for its security, they didn't do a good enough job," he said.
