Units of the Al-Amalik Brigades (Arabic for "Giants"), which are fighting for Yemen's internationally recognized government, have entered the central districts of the interim capital Aden and captured key government facilities, Asharq News reported, citing security sources.
Al-Amaliki's forces took control of the Maashiq presidential palace and Aden International Airport after the separatist forces of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) left their positions.
Moreover, on Wednesday, the command of the 4th military district (responsible for the southwestern provinces of the republic) took control of STC headquarters and facilities in several districts of the city. However, sources of the TV channel clarified that the main facilities and checkpoints of Aden remain under the control of "Al-Amalik" brigades.
