The construction of a new penal institution in Armenia will start in 2025.

Armenuhi Harutyunyan, RA Deputy Minister of Justice, Acting Minister, said this during the discussion of the draft 2025 state budget in the National Assembly.

"The process of building a new penitentiary remains relevant for us. This is the reason for our very small increases in the budget during 2025, which amount to 2.2%.

We plan that the construction of the new penitentiary should start at least in 2025," said Harutyunyan.
