Kobakhidze. The EU should be interested in restoring relations with Georgia

The European Union itself should be interested in the restoration of relations with Georgia, stated Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in a pre-New Year's interview given to the Georgian TV channel "Imedi". "Objectively, the restoration of healthy relations with Georgia is in the interests of the European Union.

When this is not done, we can logically conclude that the European bureaucracy does not act sovereignly and does not correspond to the interests of the European Union and the European society," said Kobakhidze.

According to the Prime Minister, Georgia is the only country that connects Central Asian states with Europe through the Black Sea.

Kobakhidze noted that taking into account the geopolitical realities, Brussels should enter new markets. In May 2024, the Parliament of Georgia adopted the law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence", after which the country's relations with the EU and the USA began to deteriorate.
